” In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.
The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams. “
Review:
Ok, So when I first picked up this book at the age of 14, I was absolutely in no way ready for the emotional roller coaster I was in for. This book alone is responsible for my book addiction . It opened my imagination and my mind to a whole new world.
The way Ward writes her characters and the BDB world ,makes it easy for the reader to imagine the tiniest details. Dark Lover was definitely a game changer in the Vampire genre.
The characters have a addiction to the earthly sins , as humans do.
The lead character Wrath , is the last pure blooded vampire left in the world.
He also happens to be the King of the Vampire race. He has never accepted his role as a leader, but that changes when he meets Beth Randall.
After he loses the closest thing to a friend he has ever had , in an assassination, Wrath gets stuck with a dilemma. Wrath is in no way interested in getting a mate. He also despises humans. Can you blame him? so , Will he do the favour his belated friend asked of him , and save his half-breed daughter , or will Wrath decline his request, and let her die?
Verdict: 4 out of five daggers up!
